Stealward runs on Mac, iPad, and iPhone on macOS 26 and iOS/iPadOS 26 or later. Any of them can be the device you leave behind.
Movement sensing on Mac
Movement sensing is strongest on Apple-Silicon Macs, where Stealward can sense the machine being moved — even with the lid closed. On other Macs, motion sensing may be limited or unavailable, and Stealward leans on the camera watchdog as the backstop: it still watches your belongings visually and alerts you to threats, and it still notices if the device is unplugged or goes offline.
If you have a choice, an Apple-Silicon Mac gives you the fullest set of signals.
Getting a good result
- Position the Mac so its camera has a clear view of what you want watched.
- Leave it on power for longer sessions.
- Keep another device with you to receive alerts.
